My Grown Up Christmas List...

Hello Bloggers! Well the holiday season is upon us and The Grewe's are getting excited. With Thanksgiving approaching, I have had a cooking kick like crazy and have found a few favorites:

Moist pumpkin cookies with frosting

Sundried Tomato and Basil Pasta
Bruschetta

Even though Thanksgiving has yet to come, I decorated for Christmas this week. We made a new tradition and every anniversary we will decorate our tree together (tender yes?). Speaking of, today is our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! Crazy aye? I'm so grateful for such a great year and we are excited of things to come. For our special day, we had an amazing breakfast then spend the morning watching The Family Stone while decorating the tree. Here's our new apartment with our holiday festivity.

Our kitchen is even decorative!
With no fireplace, you get creative...What the?

The Grewe's- married for one year!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I'm off to make a cheesecake!

Chapter Two.

We did it!! We moved into our new home last weekend. We had lots of help from our friends and especially Bill & Patty. We love having more room and as much as we may miss Center Street, this is quickly becoming our home.

5 things that I have been up to.

5. Moving
ahh yes we are moving this week. we our leaving our old center street abode in favor of a town house near the hospital. It is here that we have spent the first year of our marriage. It was here that we went through the very strange stage of giving up personal privacy in exchange for Marital bliss. It was here that Betsy learned that I have no idea how to do dishes. It was here that I learned that being able to wash your hands while on the toilet is pretty neat. It was here that we spent hours just staring at each other wondering.... wow how did we end up here?

4. Cabining
This was my first year ever attending closing tradition. It was just me and Bill. I caught a few fish, got frigidly cold and worked hard on getting the cabin closed. I attended the catholic church in West Yellowstone, I actually really enjoyed seeing the faith of the other side of the family. Island park was a fantastic mix of winter and fall. We love the cabin. We love forced family fun.

3.School
I remember really hating my first few years of college. I sat in classes that had no relation to my professional aspirations. There were classes that I needed binoculars to see the teacher over the 1000 people in front of me. But now, classes are smaller and have better application. Public relations is becoming a passion and a strength.... do you need anything promoted? Call me.

2. Ski movies
I am the PR guy for the the Logan showing of Matchstick productions "In Deep" its at 7pm on Friday, November 6th at the TSC auditorium. It is a fantastic display of why skiing is awesome. Staring the Late great Shane McConkey and others.

1. Advice for Emmett
Emmett Grewe is my brothers new son. He is in for a great ride. Here is the advice I would give to my new nephew.
- Listen to your dad. He is smart, fun and will help you get the most out of life
- Don't listen to your dad when he uses words like " I dare you..." or "quit being such a little girl" or when he suggests you try to smoke the weeds growing behind the garage to get high. I promise they won't get you high and broken legs hurt really bad.
- Learn Skiing lingo, its the only way you'll be able to understand what is being talked about at family get togethers.
- We all know that grandma's perfume smells funny; don't be the one stupid enough to mention it out loud.
- Grandpa will give you just about anything, all you have to do is spend some quality time fishing with him.
-That should be enough for now. Ill keep you informed.

Love y'all

Fall is Upon Us.

Fall is here! It's officially Fall in Logan and I- I mean WE- are loving it. We try to be outside as much as possible and I love having to wear a jacket on campus. We have been visiting the Maughans' in Ogden and awaiting the new arrival of Pitt and Becky's baby. School has midterms approaching and Duke will begin at Beaver in the next few weeks. He splits his time between school and working tracks at Peterson Equipment. I'm very excited for Halloween but this year don't really get to decorate. We are moving to a new town home on November 1st and are very excited about it. It's amazing how much space skis, golf clubs and all our camping stuff takes up. Life is moving along, and here's some of the events we have been doing the last few weeks

Our Blair bear turned One (!) and we got to celebrate with her and her killer cake...

One Sunday we decided to take a drive up to Beaver and see how the ol' place was doing. It was beautiful, and we were itching with excitement imagining snow on the Face.

This picture is super cool. You are welcome backcountry.

We are trying to support our school this year since we spend $65 a semester for our football team whether we like it or not. We enjoy going to the football games and especailly the hockey games. Our good friends Kyle and Sarah are our sports buddies. At the game today Sarah and I left at halftime to look in recipe books at her house-- a year ago I would have been looking at People magazine. Yep, that's what marriage does to you.

My latest project is this cool chandelier picture. I got the window pannel from Nan and found this cool piece of art. It's going to look great in our new apartment! (My next project is a quilt I am really excited to begin sowing. It helps when your mother-in-law is so willing to share her sowing machine)

And speaking of new apartment, we have slowly started packing up our stuff. It's stressful but after going through a few cabinets in the kitchen I hadn't looked in in a year, it was like Christmas! We found so many things we had forgotten we had. It was a laugh.

So anyway, that's what's been going on in the Screwy Life of a Grewe. Hope all is well with our friends and family. And with Halloween approaching...
Happy Haunting!

It's October folks. The countdown has begun.

Two things I've been happy about today...

I got this idea from another blog, but modified it a bit and am really excited about it. It's for my little niece Blair's first birthday. I figure it's a cute decoration :)

And this picture below just made me smile and I think we can all agree.

Much love.

I Feel Autumn Coming On...

I feel Autumn coming on!!! I have my Fall decorations up, and my coats are unpacked. The ladies made applesauce last weekend while Mary and Logan were here, and it's cooling down at night. We are planning a trip to Boise to go to the corn maze and pumpkin patch like last year, and I'm super excited!

There's only fun activities to come!

1. Carve jack-o-lanterns for Halloween
2. Our one year wedding anniversary
3. All the food we can eat at a Grewe Thanksgiving
4. Flying home to Texas for Christmas

Someday I will celebrate Christmas in a home like this one from the movie The Family Stone.
97 Days until Christmas!
